| 背面描述 | The copper-nickel centre displays a stylised rendition of a traditional Japanese coin (resembling a Mon cash coin) with a square central hole, bearing the four Japanese characters 地方自治 (local autonomy) arranged around the square aperture in the cardinal directions, set against a textured background. The nickel brass outer ring carries the Latin legend JAPAN 47 PREFECTURES COIN PROGRAM arcing across the upper field, with the denomination 500 YEN inscribed at lower left and the Japanese era date 平成27年 (Heisei year 27) at lower right, all within a beaded border. |

Part of Japan's 47 Prefectures Coin Program, which ran from 2008 to 2016, this issue commemorates Fukuoka Prefecture — historically the gateway to continental Asia and the site of two Mongol invasion attempts in 1274 and 1281, both repelled in part by typhoons the Japanese later called kamikaze. The program's rotating regional subjects kept collector demand artificially high throughout its run, with most pieces absorbed by sets rather than circulation.
