Obverse description Central field displays a combined shield bearing the intertwined coats of arms of Fribourg (divided horizontally black and white) and Switzerland (white cross on red field), in high relief. Above the shield, the commemorative dates 1481 and 1981 flank the legend FRIBURGUM in bold raised lettering. Below the shield in the lower field, the fineness mark 900, mint mark, and an engraver's signature appear in small cursive script.
