| Opis awersu | Central device consists of the Mongolian state emblem — the soyombo symbol — set within an ornate arch-shaped cartouche resting on a stylised lotus base, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The Cyrillic legend МОНГОЛ БАНК (Bank of Mongolia) appears in decorative script across the centre of the cartouche. Traditional Mongolian script legends flank the central device to the left and right. The denomination 500 ТӨГРӨГ is inscribed in large numerals and Cyrillic lettering below the cartouche, with the Latin legend MONGOLIA 25gr 925 SILVER along the lower rim. |

Mongolia's wildlife coinage program from the mid-2000s was issued partly to satisfy international collector demand and partly to fund foreign currency reserves — the Bank of Mongolia relied heavily on numismatic export revenue during a period when the domestic economy remained heavily dependent on mining and livestock sectors. The tiger depicted is the Siberian, whose range barely clips Mongolia's northeastern border with Russia, making it a geographically marginal but politically useful symbol of the country's biodiversity claims.
