Reverse description Two judo athletes in dynamic combat are depicted in high relief at center, their figures arching dramatically as one competitor executes a throwing technique against the other, both clad in judogi. In the background, a detailed skyline of Beijing — featuring the Oriental Pearl Tower and other prominent landmarks — stretches across the upper field beneath the arc of the legend. The curved inscription 'OLYMPIC GAMES 2008' appears along the upper periphery in stylized lettering. The year of issue '2007' is inscribed at the bottom of the field, flanked symmetrically on either side by rows of traditional Mongolian ornamental symbols serving as decorative border elements.

Additional information

Mongolia's judo program has genuine credibility behind it — Naidangiin Tüvshinbayar won the country's first-ever Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games, in the men's 100kg class. This coin predates that result by a year, issued in anticipation of Beijing rather than in celebration of it.
