Obverse description The obverse displays the national coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan at center, featuring a shanyrak (the upper dome of a yurt) with sun rays radiating outward, flanked by mythical winged horses (tulpars) on either side, all above crossed sheaves of wheat and a five-pointed star at the apex. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. A circular legend in both Kazakh and Russian reads ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ • РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН around the upper periphery, with the denomination 500 ТЕҢГЕ inscribed along the lower portion and the word ҚАЗАҚСТАН appearing in the lower field beneath the coat of arms.

Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the Zharkent Mosque (Жаркентская мечеть), a historically significant Chinese-style mosque located in Zharkent, Kazakhstan, depicted in three-quarter perspective with its distinctive multi-tiered pagoda-style roof and ornate eaves. Flanking the mosque on either side are stylized trees rendered in fine engraved detail, enhancing the pictorial composition. The bilingual inscription ЖАРКЕНТ МЕШІТІ • ЖАРКЕНТСКАЯ МЕЧЕТЬ arcs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic script. In the lower exergue, the fineness mark Ag 925 appears to the left, the weight 31,1 gr. to the right, the mint mark of the Kazakhstan Mint at center, and the year of issue 2008 flanked by decorative dots.
