The Tobet is a Central Asian sighthound — the Kazakh variant of a regional dog type that includes the Tazy — historically prized by nomadic communities for coursing prey across steppe terrain. Kazakhstan's commemorative silver program has consistently drawn from this material culture, issuing coins tied to animals, traditions, and artifacts that fell outside Soviet-era numismatic vocabulary. The gilding applied selectively to this strike is a production technique the National Bank deployed repeatedly during this period to add chromatic contrast without resorting to bimetallic construction.
