| Beschrijving keerzijde | At center, the official emblem of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is depicted: a four-pointed star with stylized arrowhead points, each interlocking angle adorned with olive branches, and a small sphere at the center of the composition. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. A circular Cyrillic legend in the upper portion reads 10 ЛЕТ ОРГАНИЗАЦИИ ДОГОВОРА О КОЛЛЕКТИВНОЙ БЕЗОПАСНОСТИ with the dual anniversary dates 2002 · 2012, while the lower arc bears the inscription 20 ЛЕТ ПОДПИСАНИЯ ДОГОВОРА О КОЛЛЕКТИВНОЙ БЕЗОПАСНОСТИ flanked by the dates 1992 · 2012, all separated by decorative dot motifs. |

The Collective Security Treaty Organization, commemorated here, was founded in 1992 as the Soviet Union's military alliance structure collapsed and former republics scrambled to define new security relationships. Kazakhstan was among the original signatories, though the organization spent much of the 1990s as a largely dormant framework before being reconstituted as a formal international organization in 2002.
Kazakhstan issued a notable run of .925 silver commemoratives in this period marking regional political institutions — CSTO, SCO, CIS — reflecting Astana's deliberate positioning as a hub of post-Soviet multilateralism under Nazarbayev.
