Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse displays the State Emblem of Kazakhstan in the upper left field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. To the right of the emblem, the denomination '500 ТЕҢГЕ' is inscribed in bold characters, with the fineness and weight notation 'Ag 925 31.1gr.' below. The lower portion of the field features a gilt silhouette map of Kazakhstan, overlaid to the right with an ornate gilt decorative motif in the traditional Kazakh animal style art, evoking the ancient Scythian-Saka artistic heritage. The circular legend 'ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ' runs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic script, and the Kazakhstan Mint monogram (KMC) appears in the lower field.

Aanvullende informatie

Kazakhstan declared independence on December 16, 1991, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union — one of the last republics to do so. The twentieth anniversary prompted an extensive commemorative program from the National Bank, of which this is one piece. The partial gilding applied over .925 silver was a favored technique in Kazakhstani commemorative issues of this period, used across multiple denominations in the same anniversary series.
