Bangladesh's Security Printing Corporation in Gazipur — established with German technical assistance in 1988 — handles the full production run for this series, one of relatively few countries in South Asia printing its own higher denominations domestically rather than contracting to De La Rue or a comparable European security printer. The 500 Taka sits near the top of Bangladesh's circulating range and is frequently targeted by counterfeiters, which drove incremental security upgrades across the P#58 date range without a full reissue.
