Obverse description At centre, a vignette of the Sat Gambuj Mosque (Seven Domed Mosque), a notable example of provincial Mughal architecture from the 17th century, situated in the Mohammadpur area on the northwestern outskirts of Dhaka. To the right, an intaglio portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founding father and first President of Bangladesh, faces left against a guilloche underprint. Denomination and issuer inscriptions appear in Bengali and English.
