Reverse description The aluminium bronze centre features a forward-facing portrait bust of Isidro Ayora, President of Ecuador and founder of the Banco Central del Ecuador, with his name inscribed in small lettering beneath the effigy within the centre field. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the legend 'BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR' arcing around the upper half, while the commemorative date span '1927-1997' appears along the lower portion, flanked by small dot separators. The mint mark 'S' is visible in the lower right area of the centre field. The overall composition commemorates the 70th anniversary of the institution's founding.
