| Obverse description | The colorized coat of arms of Tajikistan occupies the central field, depicting a rising sun behind a mountain range above an open book, flanked by sheaves of wheat on the right and cotton bolls on the left, bound by the national tricolor ribbon and surmounted by a crown and a semicircle of seven stars. The Cyrillic legend ҶУМҲУРИИ ТОҶИКИСТОН arcs along the upper periphery, while REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN runs along the lower periphery in Latin script. The denomination 500 СОМОНӢ and the date 2014 appear in the lower field in gilded numerals, with the fineness mark Ag 925 and the weight 31,1 inscribed vertically on either side of the arms.
