| Reverse description | At centre, a finely detailed high-relief portrait bust of Ali Hamadoni (Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, 1314–1384), the renowned 14th-century Persian Sufi scholar and poet, faces slightly to the right, depicted wearing a traditional wrapped turban and draped robes with a beard. The field is similarly divided into a polished mirror finish on the right and a matte black background on the left. The name АЛӢ ҲАМАДОНӢ arcs along the upper left rim in gilt Cyrillic lettering, and ALI HAMADONI arcs along the upper right rim in gilt Latin lettering. The birth year 1314 appears to the left of the portrait and the death year 1384 to the right. At the base, the commemorative numeral 700, flanked by gilt laurel sprigs, marks the 700th anniversary of his birth. |
