Obverse description Central vignette presents an allegorical figure of Liberty as a seated woman holding a staff and shield, rendered in classical intaglio style. The issuer's name is inscribed across the top panel, with the face value expressed in numerals at all four corners and along the lateral borders of the vignette, and in full letters in the panel below. Red serial numbers appear at the upper corners, with a noted variant placing the serial number at the lower left rather than the upper position.
