| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued the same year Obote returned to power following the overthrow of Idi Amin and a disputed 1980 election widely condemned by international observers, this commemorative sits awkwardly in Ugandan numismatic history. Obote's second presidency would end in another coup, in 1985, before he could complete his term.
The .925 silver version is the scarcer of the two compositions struck for this type, the other being cupro-nickel intended for circulation-quality sets.
