At the upper portion of the field, the commemorative legend D-DAY is incused in bold capital letters, with JUNE 6, 1944 inscribed immediately below. At centre, a raised circular element represents the primer of the cartridge case in high relief. In the lower portion, the Tanzanian coat of arms is rendered within a raised circular cartouche, flanked by the legend TANZANIA above and 500 SHILLINGS below. The date 2019 appears at the lower right of the field. |
