| Opmerkingen |
By the mid-2000s, the Central Bank of Kenya had moved its De La Rue printing operations to Nairobi — one of relatively few African central banks to have banknote production physically on home soil rather than contracting output to facilities in the UK. The P#50 series reflects that arrangement across multiple signature combinations, with Njuguna Ndung'u replacing Andrew Mullei as Governor following Mullei's suspension amid a high-profile dispute with the Kibaki government in 2006.
Nahashon Nyagah's persistence across all three signature variants, as the Deputy Governor, gives the series an unusual continuity at the secondary signatory position while the top seat changed hands under political pressure.
