备注	BA International — the renamed successor to British American Bank Note Company — printed this series during a period when Somalia's central banking infrastructure was effectively collapsing. The civil war that ousted Siad Barre in January 1991 left the Central Bank nonfunctional, yet notes from this series continued to circulate for years afterward, their value destroyed not by official demonetization but by the sheer volume of counterfeit and faction-issued currency flooding the south. The 1989–1996 date range on this issue is somewhat notional. Printing likely occurred before the state's dissolution, with remaining stocks simply remaining in circulation by default rather than by any institutional decision.
