Obverse description Central field displays the denomination within a circle of ten heraldic shields, comprising the Austrian federal eagle at top and the coats of arms of the nine federal states arranged around the periphery. The circular legend reads REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH 500 SCHILLING along the upper rim, rendered in Latin script.

Reverse description Detailed architectural view of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Georgenberg-Fiecht presented across two registers: the historic hilltop church of St. Georgenberg appears in the upper portion of the field, while the expansive Baroque monastery complex at Fiecht is depicted in aerial perspective below, separated by the inscription 850 JAHRE flanking a patriarchal cross. The engraver's signature A. ZIERLER appears in the lower field. The circumferential legend BENEDIKTINERABTEI ST. GEORGENBERG-FIECHT runs along the rim, and the founding and commemorative dates 1138 and 1988 are placed in the exergue.
