Opmerkingen

Punjab National Bank's travellers cheque programme was one of the longest-running in India, and specimens like this were produced for internal approval, sales training, and branch display — never intended to enter circulation. Security Printers of India Private Ltd. in Kanpur handled the bulk of India's institutional security document printing outside of the Reserve Bank's own presses at Nasik and Dewas, making this a relatively rare example of a major scheduled bank commissioning specimen cheque production through that facility rather than through a foreign security printer.

The ₹500 denomination placed this at the upper end of the travellers cheque range for retail banking customers. Specimen status is typically confirmed by diagonal overprint or perforation cancellation.
