Beschrijving voorzijde At center, the Lion Capital of Ashoka (the national emblem of India) is depicted in high relief, showing three lions passant upon an abacus adorned with a Dharma Chakra wheel and flanking animals. Directly below the emblem, the Devanagari legend SATYAMEV JAYATE (Truth alone triumphs) appears as a motto. The denomination ₹500 is inscribed in the lower field. The country name BHARAT in Devanagari script arcs along the left periphery, and INDIA in Latin script arcs along the right periphery.

Beschrijving keerzijde At center, a fine relief effigy of Shri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is depicted standing in a devotional ecstatic pose (bhava-mudra), arms raised and hands outstretched, adorned with a garland and draped in a dhoti, with a nimbus behind his head. The year of issue appears in both Devanagari numerals (२०१५) to the left and Arabic numerals (2015) to the right of the central figure. The upper legend in Devanagari script reads श्री कृष्ण चैतन्य महाप्रभु के वृंदावन आगमन की ५००वीं जयंती, while the lower legend in Latin script reads 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF SHRI KRISHNA CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU'S COMING TO VRINDAVAN, both arranged along the inner periphery.
