Obverse description The obverse features the royal cypher and regnal legend of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script, arranged around a central circle containing a trishul (trident). Flanking the central device are paired Hindu symbols: a chakra (discus) and sankha (conch) at mid left and right respectively, a padma (lotus) and gada (mace) at lower left and right, and a chandra (crescent moon) and surya (sun) at upper left and right. The overall composition is framed by a beaded inner border, presenting the traditional Nepalese royal iconographic program in a formal, heraldic arrangement.
