| Obverse description | At centre, a vignette of the World Trade Center twin towers alongside the Bank of Ceylon headquarters building in Colombo is flanked to the right by the Lankathilake Viharaya, the ancient Buddhist temple in Kandy. The Sri Lankan Emerald Collared Parakeet (Psittacula calthropae) appears at right and the Ceylon Indigo Royal butterfly (Tajuria arida) at left, with guilloche underprint throughout. The CHOGM 2013 logo with the inscription "SRI LANKA" occupies the lower left, with the issue date 2013-11-15 inscribed and denominations rendered in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. |
