| Obverse description | Orange and brown symmetrical design on a guilloche-patterned ground of undulating wave lines. The centre is occupied by a large cross-shaped vignette in orange and dark brown, with the numeral '500' in bold outlined figures at its heart, flanked above by 'PIECI SIMTI' and below by 'LATVIJAS RUBĻU'. A cartouche to the left carries the issuing authority inscription dated 1992, while the numeral '500' appears in large format at both the lower left and upper right corners. Two facsimile signatures appear at the bottom, attributed to the President and Chief Cashier of the Bank of Latvia respectively. |
