| Obverse description | Light blue polymer note issued for the 75th anniversary of OAO NAZ 'Sokol', centred on a vignette of a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 jet fighter in flight within a framed panel inscribed '1950'. To the left, large Cyrillic numerals '75 ЛЕТ' appear above the plant name and date range '1932–2007'; to the right, an oval guilloche cartouche carries the denomination '500 АВИАРУБЛЕЙ', with the gilt coat of arms of Nizhny Novgorod — a deer passant — printed at the upper right alongside a gilt serial number. The denomination is repeated in an ornate letterpress panel along the lower margin. |

Factory scrip issued by a defense-sector aerospace manufacturer is unusual anywhere; in post-Soviet Russia it was a throwback to the 1990s, when chronic wage arrears forced dozens of industrial enterprises to pay workers in internal currency redeemable only at company stores. By 2007 that crisis had nominally passed, which makes this Sokol issue a curiosity — whether it served a residual barter function, commemorative purpose, or some internal accounting role is not firmly documented in the literature.
The polymer substrate is the notable production detail. Most Russian enterprise scrip from the arrears period was printed on ordinary paper stock; commissioning a polymer note in 2007 suggests deliberate longevity or a small commemorative print run rather than day-to-day wage substitution.
