| Beschrijving voorzijde | Centre vignette presents a portrait of Empress Catherine II of Russia (1729–1796), the longest-reigning female ruler of the Russian Empire. The issuing authority name appears in three languages — Russian, Ukrainian, and Moldovan — across the upper and lower margins, alongside the bank abbreviation PRB and the denomination 500 in large numerals. Guilloche underprint patterns frame the central design. |

| Opmerkingen |
Transnistria's currency exists in a legal grey zone — the Transnistrian rouble is accepted nowhere outside the unrecognized republic, and no IMF member state acknowledges its monetary system. The 500-rouble denomination was introduced in the 2004 series as inflation made smaller notes increasingly impractical, a recurring pressure on an economy propped up largely by Russian subsidies and grey-market trade through the Moldovan border.
The 2012 date reflects a reissue within the same Pick number, not a redesign — minor security feature updates were made without altering the fundamental plate work.
