| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is dominated by a central vignette of Dar al-Hajar (the Rock Palace), the former royal summer retreat built in the 1920s near Sana'a, rising dramatically atop its natural rock foundation. The palace, constructed over a structure dating to 1786, served as the residence of Imam Yahya Muhammad Hamid ed-Din and is rendered in fine intaglio line work against a multicolour guilloche underprint. Denomination numerals and Arabic inscriptions appear at left and right, framed by geometric ornamental borders characteristic of the series. |
