Obverse description Central vignette of Dar al-Hajar (Palace of the Rock), the historic imam's palace perched atop a rocky outcrop, rendered in fine intaglio in blue and brown tones. The issuer's name in Arabic script appears at the top, flanked by large arabesque guilloche numerals '500' to the left and right margins, with a vertical security band at left incorporating repeated denomination numerals. The date 1422 AH / 2001 AD and the denomination in Arabic text appear at the lower portion of the note.
