| 备注 |
Brazil's Thesouro Nacional turned to Bradbury Wilkinson repeatedly in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and this 500 Réis note is one of the more modest outputs of that relationship — a low-denomination workhorse note during a period when the milréis was under sustained inflationary pressure following the Encilhamento speculation crisis of the early 1890s. The Treasury, rather than the Banco da República do Brasil, retained direct note-issuing authority for these smaller values.
The "4th Print" designation reflects successive re-orders from the same London printer using the same plate series — a common economy measure that makes distinguishing print runs difficult without reference to signature combinations or serial prefix blocks.
