In the center, an oval medallion with bust of Pedro de Alcântara João Carlos Leopoldo Salvador Bibiano Francisco Xavier de Paula Leocádio Miguel Gabriel Rafael Gonzaga de Bragança and Bourbon, Dom Pedro II (1825-1891), 2nd emperor of Brazil (1831-1889), flanked by two female figures, seated, allegories of industry (left), with their right hand perched on the Coat of Arms of the Empire and having in the background mountain, and steam train in motion, and commerce (right), holding in their right hand a caduceus and with a sailboat in the sea in the background.
