Obverse description Bare-headed, bearded bust of Emperor Pedro II facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and full beard in the neoclassical portrait style. The engraver's initials C.L. appear below the truncation of the neck. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the inner border, reading PETRUS II D.G.C.IMP. ET PERP.BRAS.DEF., with the date 1867 displayed prominently in the lower field flanked by two ornamental stops. The entire design is contained within a finely milled border.
