Additional information

Orange Free State ceased to exist as a political entity in 1902 when it was annexed by Britain following the Second Boer War, becoming the Orange River Colony and later a province of the Union of South Africa in 1910. It has issued no currency since. This piece is a privately produced fantasy item using a defunct historical name to simulate sovereign legitimacy — a practice common in the collectibles market for licensed pop-culture merchandise that cannot be issued by an actual government mint.
