| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Fuad I wearing a fez, rendered in high relief with finely modelled facial features including a trimmed moustache and goatee. The bust is truncated at the shoulder and set against a smooth, unadorned field. An Arabic legend curves along the right side of the field, identifying the monarch. The design is framed by an inner beaded border and an outer reeded rim, reflecting the refined engraving style of Percy Metcalfe. |

| Reverse description | Central field dominated by an elaborate interlaced thuluth calligraphic roundel containing the inscription 'Al-Mamlaka al-Misriyya' (The Egyptian Kingdom), enclosed within a circular border. Above the roundel, the denomination '500 Qirsh' appears in Arabic numerals and script across the upper field. Eight five-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the periphery of the coin. The Hijri year 1340 appears at lower left and the Gregorian year 1922 at lower right, flanking the base of the central roundel. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded inner border and an outer reeded rim. |
