Surrounding the central device are the four national floral emblems of the United Kingdom — the English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil, and Irish shamrock — rendered with fine botanical detail. A ribbon scroll below the cypher bears the regnal dates 1952–2022, commemorating the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II's accession. A robin perches to the lower right among the floral sprays, and the engraver's initials JB appear discreetly within the design. The field is entirely occupied by the decorative composition, with no peripheral legend, giving the reverse a richly pictorial character. |
