Additional information

The Sp#BSM2 is part of the Royal Mint's ongoing britannia series, which shifted to a fifth portrait of Elizabeth II — sculpted by Jody Clark — beginning in 2015. Clark won an internal Royal Mint competition, making him the first in-house engraver to produce a royal portrait in over a century. The 1 kg format targets the bullion investment market rather than circulation, and annual mintages for pieces of this size are rarely disclosed in full by the Royal Mint.
