Reverse description The conjoined or closely grouped busts of the four principal Allied leaders of the Napoleonic Wars depicted in left-facing profile: George, Prince Regent (later George IV) of Great Britain; Francis II, Emperor of Austria; Alexander I, Emperor of Russia; and Frederick William III, King of Prussia. The portraits are framed by an elaborate ornamental border populated with allegorical and mythological figures referencing the Treaty of Paris and the victory at the Battle of Waterloo (1815). The overall composition is modelled after the historical Waterloo Medal design, rendered in high relief appropriate to the large-format proof coinage.
