| 裏面の説明 | Dynamic high-relief depiction of Saint George, clad in Roman armour and plumed helmet, mounted on a rearing warhorse and thrusting a lance downward toward a large coiled dragon occupying the lower field. The dragon is rendered with pronounced scaly texture, open jaws, and a sinuous tail curling across the base of the design, recalling the iconic Benedetto Pistrucci tradition while presenting a bold, contemporary interpretation. The date 2024 is inscribed in a recessed panel at the bottom of the field. A repeating circular legend reading KILO · FINE SILVER · 999 · 2024 runs continuously around the entire inner border of the coin. |

The St George and the Dragon design used here derives directly from Benedetto Pistrucci's original 1817 model, created for the Great Recoinage of that year and never fully accepted by Pistrucci himself as the engravers had to copy it without his permission after he refused to cut a steel die. The Royal Mint has returned to his design repeatedly for prestige silver issues, treating it as something close to an institutional signature piece.
At one kilogram of .999 silver in a 100mm format, this sits at the upper end of the Mint's annual bullion program for Charles III's reign — his effigy appearing here in the first full year of large-format kilo issues under the new monarch.
