| Opmerkingen |
The 500 Pesos Oro denomination entered Dominican circulation during a period of severe macroeconomic stress — annual inflation peaked above 100% in 1990, one of the worst episodes in the country's postwar history, and the high-face-value note was partly a practical response to the erosion of smaller denominations' purchasing power. De La Rue's London facilities handled the full print run, a long-standing arrangement for Dominican currency that reflects the Central Bank's consistent preference for offshore security printing over domestic production.
The security thread on this series is a straightforward windowed type, unremarkable by the standards of early-1990s TDLR output.
