Obverse description	The aluminium bronze centre features the denomination '500' in large numerals prominently occupying the central field, with the unit '·PESOS·' inscribed immediately below. The circular legend '·REPÚBLICA DE COLOMBIA·' runs along the upper periphery of the centre disc. The date appears at the bottom of the centre disc. The outer nickel brass ring is decorated with an ornate pattern of scrolling foliate and wave motifs interspersed with a beaded inner border, giving the obverse an elaborate decorative frame.
