Obverse description Two allegorical female figures in classical robes are seated at left and right, flanking a central oval intaglio vignette containing a bearded male portrait in profile. Elaborate guilloche underprint in blue and red radiates from the centre, with intricate lace-like borders at all four corners. The denomination "QUINIENTAS 500 PESETAS" appears in bold lettering at the lower centre, with three manuscript signatures below under the titles EL GOBERNADOR, EL INTERVENTOR, and EL CAJERO.
