Obverse description Central depiction of the iconic ruined façade of St. Paul's Church (Ruins of São Paulo), rendered in fine relief against a mirror-proof field. The legend 'MACAU' arcs across the upper periphery, while the date '2003' is positioned in two segments at the lower left and lower right of the church. Eight five-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the design, flanking the church façade on both sides, with the coin's milled border forming the outermost ring.
