| 备注 |
Brazil's Thesouro Nacional leaned heavily on the American Bank Note Company throughout the early Republic period, and this 9th Print 500 Mil Réis is one of the longer-running note types in that relationship — the same basic plate design was recycled across multiple emissions spanning years, with successive prints distinguished primarily by subtle signature combinations and series letters rather than any redesign.
The Mil Réis was abolished in 1942 when Vargas introduced the Cruzeiro, but by 1907 the denomination itself was already under pressure from inflation that had been grinding since the Encilhamento speculation crisis of the early 1890s. A 500 Mil Réis note was meaningful money, not pocket change.
