| 裏面の説明 | Printed in olive-green on a fine guilloche underprint, the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette of Finland's Coat of Arms — a crowned lion passant on a heraldic shield — surrounded by symmetrical sprays of pine branches rendered in detailed intaglio. Tall decorative pillar motifs in dark brown anchor the left and right margins, each surmounted by a small "500" counter; four corner cartouches also bear the numeral "500", and the date "1922" appears centred in the lower border ornamental band. |

Finland's 500 Markkaa notes of this period were issued under genuine monetary pressure — the markka had collapsed during and after World War I, and the Bank of Finland was still managing the fallout of wartime inflation and the economic disruption of the 1918 civil war. High-denomination paper was a practical necessity, not a prestige issue.
The Litt. A and Litt. C designations distinguish sequential emission batches within the same design series, a bookkeeping convention the Bank of Finland used to track liability across note populations without redesigning the plate. Litt. B does not appear in the catalogued sequence for this denomination, which has never been fully explained in the published literature.
