The left two-thirds carry the denomination numeral '500' as a large pale underprint flanking the central text block, with the face value spelled out in bold Gothic blackletter script as 'Fünfhundert Mark'. To the upper left, the issuing authority legend appears in Gothic script across two lines. At right, a rectangular vignette encloses an allegorical seated female figure in classical drapery holding a key and a scroll, set against a townscape background with the heraldic shields of Zittau and Bautzen above her; the note is dated 'Zittau Bautzen, den 30. Oktober 1922' at the lower left and carries four manuscript signatures below the issuing bank name. |
