At centre, a large ornate cartouche in an elongated oval shape, flanked by symmetrical acanthus-scroll and spread-wing motifs, carries the denomination 'Fünfhundert Mark' in blackletter script. Four rosette guilloche medallions occupy the corner areas within the outer border, lending the design its sole decorative accents. |
