背面描述 The reverse carries a central architectural vignette of the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) of Crimmitschau, rendered in a bold woodcut-style illustration in blue and ochre, with a crowd of figures gathered before the building and a tall clock tower rising against a hatched sky. Denomination numerals '500' in ochre appear in the upper corners within blue panels. Aphoristic inscriptions in Fraktur script run vertically along the lower left and right margins.

备注

Crimmitschau, a textile manufacturing town in Saxony, issued this emergency currency — Notgeld — during the hyperinflationary collapse of 1922, when Reichsbank notes were becoming worthless faster than they could be printed and local authorities across Germany were forced to issue their own denominations to keep wages and commerce moving. The Rat der Stadt Crimmitschau, the town council, acted as issuer rather than any banking institution, which was common at the municipal level.

Crimmitschau had a particular history with labor unrest — the 1903–04 textile workers' strike there was one of the longest in German labor history. Whether that context shaped the design choices here is unknown, but the town was not an unremarkable issuer.
