| 裏面の説明 | At the upper center, a right-facing bust portrait of President Saparmurat Niyazov (Türkmenbaşy) is depicted above a stylized symmetrical tree of life motif, whose sweeping branches bear inscribed ribbon-like scrolls naming the president's ancestors across four generations: ATAMYRAT AGA and ANNAMYRAZ AGA on the first level, ARTYK BAY and TAÑRYGULY BATYR on the second, and ANNAMYRAZ BAY and AGÖYLI BAY at the base. The denomination 500 MANAT and the diameter mark 65 appear at the lower field. The outer legend reads BEYIK NESLIÑ BEYIK SERDARY at top and TÜRKMENISTAN with the date 2005 at bottom, punctuated by decorative rosette stops. |

Issued to honor Saparmurat Niyazov — "Turkmenbashi," Father of all Turkmen — this coin was produced while the country was under one of the most extreme personality cults of the post-Soviet world. Niyazov had declared himself president-for-life in 1999 and systematically embedded his family lineage into national mythology, most explicitly through his book Ruhnama, which schoolchildren were required to memorize.
Niyazov died suddenly in December 2006, less than two years after this coin was struck. The entire apparatus of state iconography built around his genealogy was dismantled almost immediately by his successor.
