Aanvullende informatie

Görogly (sometimes transliterated Gör-ogly) is the hero of a Turkic oral epic tradition stretching across Central Asia, celebrated in Turkmenistan as a foundational cultural figure. The 2001 commemorative series of which this coin forms part was issued in the early years of Saparmurat Niyazov's presidency, a period when the state aggressively promoted Turkmen cultural identity — including officially glorifying the Görogly cycle alongside Niyazov's own mythologized national narratives.

The .925 silver specification and 28.28 g weight place this squarely within the standard commemorative module Turkmenistan adopted from the outset of its post-Soviet coinage program.
