Reverse description The papal coat of arms of Paul VI, consisting of a pointed shield decorated with fleurs-de-lis and surmounted by the papal tiara with crossed keys of Saint Peter, occupies the central field. The denomination LIRE 500 is inscribed across the lower portion of the shield, flanking it on either side. The circular legend CITTA DEL VATICANO runs along the upper periphery, while the date appears at the bottom between two small decorative rosettes.
