Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in three-quarter view occupies the right side of the note against a violet guilloche underprint. The centre carries the large numeral '500' above the denomination legend in Turkish, with the issuing authority's name in letterpress along the top margin. A blank oval watermark window is positioned to the left, and three signature lines for senior bank officials appear across the lower centre.

Reverse description The central vignette presents a panoramic view of Istanbul's Hippodrome, with the ancient Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius and the Serpent Column visible in the foreground and the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque) with its six minarets rising in the background. The scene is rendered in fine intaglio engraving within a violet guilloche border frame, with the denomination numeral '500' repeated in each corner. The issuing bank's name runs along the bottom margin in letterpress.
